I wanted the poet to escape from the awful things that had happened to her. It meant that although many of the poems would bring tears to my eyes, a happy ending was coming. The next page, however, told me that it was the story of a woman learning to believe in herself and that there was a happy ending. This lets me know right away that things were going to get dark and a little uncomfortable for a while. If you’re a fan or a foodie, after reading the road to opening Momofuku, you’ll immediately want to go back and grab the Momofuku cookbook and make a few dishes. And in a time when a lot is finally coming out about abusive behavior by high profile chefs, I give credit to someone who owns their behavior and genuinely apologizes for it. It’s just not a thing that’s talked about often in Asian American families. I have to applaud Chang’s frank discussion about his battle with depression. And while it would be easy to just call it a chef memoir, it’s also intrinsically about a slice of the Asian American experience. Carolyn Dunne, the Marchioness of Finley, throws the party in order to help her brother Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, find a wife. This one is marketed as a novel in three parts, but it’s pretty much an anthology of three stories, set in a house party in Finchley Manor. ![]() As collaborative romance novel efforts tend to be, the result is actually quite unexceptional. Mere mortals need not worry about any resulting apocalypse or something like that when these three authors collaborate on a story, though. ![]() You are free to disagree with me on this, but you have to admit – The Lady Most Likely… is definitely not lacking in star power.
